Sweet potatoes |

Brown sugar |
Firmly packed |
| 1/4 cup |
Water |

Butter |

Salt and pepper |
To taste |
Cook sweet potatoes until tender; drain, peel, and place in a pan. Make a syrup by
boiling the
sugar and water.
Pour the syrup over the potatoes and dot with butter.
Bake at 450 degrees for about 20 minutes
